Pie on The Porch
Pie on the Porch is Coming Home! We’re excited to share that Pie on the Porch is returning to the Morgan House this year! We are planning two pie social events, along with other great activities, taking place in June and August.
Our team has spent time brainstorming how to keep Pie on the Porch going as it has become an important part of our Historical Society’s identity. Bringing the event back home allows us to shine a brighter light on the Morgan House and the work of our Society, while also ensuring we can continue the tradition within our volunteer capacity. We are deeply grateful for the dedication and support of our members and volunteers during the years Pie on the Porch was held on Main Street.
We’re thrilled to bring this beloved event back to its roots and look forward to celebrating together once again. Interested in volunteering or baking a pie for one (or both!) events? We’d love to hear from you—please reach out and get involved!
Every year we hold our annual meeting at the Morgan House. This is a great opportunity to turn out to hear about the society’s activities over the past year, including the extensive conservation work, events, and hear from and elect leadership.
Our mission is to unravel history by breathing life into forgotten tales, collecting and sharing stories and artifacts that define our community, and inviting community members to actively participate in preserving the rich history of our area. We aim to serve Winnebago County and surrounding areas by researching, preserving, and communicating the history of our region.

Experience photography the way it was done in the 1800s at our Tintype Pop-Up Event, hosted by the Winnebago County Historical Society.
